Late Date.

I dreamed of this night with you,
I had it all chalked out,
A dinner, a date, a rendezvous
A walk by the park before 2.

You came in suited, eyes brighter than blue,
So chivalrous were you,
These flowers smelt so new
This is what I imagined.

We laughed, we ate, we drank a lot,
Time passed by without a glitch.
We left, it rained, so beautiful it was,
We ran along the paths of the drizzle.

Suddenly then I did not hear you,
I felt you stop and rustle through.
I looked over to see, a sudden pause you took.
Chills down my spine, I knew what was going to happen.

I couldn’t run, I couldn’t go free,
I thought this was how it was going to be.
Nobody behind, nobody at the side,
I knew it was time to say my goodbye’s.

But suddenly then, my leg kicked you.
You hit your head and then turned blue.
I backed a little and began to cry,
What could I have done otherwise?

I did not plan for this.
Yes to a walk by the park
Yes to maybe a midnight kiss.
Little did I know that you would end up like this.

  1. I want to say that the imagery and writing style was beautiful! However if this actually Happened to you, it’s really sad, and I hope you find the strength to get over it…. society is changing but the change is quite slow….and that’s really sad

    Take care!
